About the AD DS MP
The Active Directory Domain Services Management Pack provides both proactive and reactive monitoring of your Active Directory Domain Services deployment.
It monitors the overall health of the Active Directory system and alerts you to critical performance issues.
The monitoring provided by this management pack includes monitoring of Active Directory Domain Controllers and monitoring of health from the perspective of clients utilizing Active Directory resources.

we have SCOM server called SCOM142 with IP address 172.16.100.142
regarding domain we have :
windows 2016 called DC101.pioneers.lab which installed :
- DNS pioneers.lab
- Active Directory Domain Service Pioneers.lab
we will use SCOM with AD management Pack to monitor ACtive and related services
Let’s GO
import AD MP
the first thing is ti install Active Directory MP
we have two options :
- import ADDS MP directly from microsoft website catalog
- download ADDS MP from microsoft download center > install MP which extract it > import MP from local disk
we will use the easiest way : import directly from microsoft catalog center
monitoring ADDS alerts
after import MP > wait until SCOM start discovering AD and related services
the first thing to watch is alert
fortunately : we have got one alert which related to DNS setting for NIC to practical purpose
after we fix NIC DNS settings >> NO alert displayed
monitoring ADDS performance
one of greatest of ADDS MP is to monitor performance if you have unknown issue
below some counters for ADDS performance
Monitoring AD topology view
also we can check ADDS topology view in case we need to adjust it
